The Energy Commons

Inspired by Elinor Ostrom and her work on "Governing the Commons", "The Energy Commons" is an approach that treats an LEC as shared community resources rather than commercial infrastructure. It combines renewable energy generation, collective governance, and active participation, empowering citizens to co-own, co-design energy systems, by fostering trust, and shared responsibility. Community Weaving in LECs can transform passive prosumers into active energy citizens and foster the energy transition.
