Innovation Booster Future Urban Society

What does the future of life in Switzerland's urban areas look like?

How can we live in the future in a climate-neutral and biodiversity-promoting way and at the same time create social added value? How can we travel in an affordable, climate-neutral way — privately and professionally? How do we eat regionally and ecologicaly?

These questions can only be answered together, co-creatively and with a new understanding of innovation. With the Innovation Booster Future Urban Society, we have a tool to promote radically new ideas and innovations. Become part, help to mainstream social innovation and secure up to CHF 25,000 for jointly developed ideas during the process.

We need systemic approaches

Climate crisis, biodiversity crisis, energy crisis — we live in a world of multi-crises. These elude a simple solution. Systemic thinking and systemic approaches to problem-solving are essential. We are looking for radically new ideas and approaches — both technologically and socially.

“Decouple prosperity and life satisfaction from ecological burdens”

Unchecked growth and the overuse of resources cannot be solved by technology alone. In the long term, we need new consumption patterns and social innovations. Approaches such as

Be part of the solution and receive up to CHF 25,000

In order to enable and accelerate innovation, we aim to connect cities and administrations with eco-social innovators, stakeholders from the private sector and research. Ideas that arise through the Innovation Booster Program and are selected by our jury can receive financial support of up to CHF 25,000, including vouchers for expert advice and coaching. This allows them to be tested in depth for desirability, viability, and feasibility and enables us to further develop and test the still niche but promising innovations in urban areas of Switzerland.

Here we go! Kick-off event 16.5 in Zurich

On May 16, the booster starts with a kick-off event to which we invite you.

As part of the kick-off event, the FUS team presents the booster and the two challenges. Jonas Fricker, Project Manager Climate Protection for the City of Zurich, gives a short interim report on the Netto-Zero 2040 project. Caroline Paulick-Thiel (Director Politics for Tomorrow and co-initiator 10x100) brings Food for Thought: In a keynote, she talks about internationally proven approaches for the impact and dissemination of social innovations and presents inspiring models for transformational work involving civil society, public sector, business, research and politics. During an aperitif afterwards, initial ideas can be exchanged and contacts made.

The event is open to social innovators and potential challenge participants, project partners and anyone who is involved in or interested in eco-social innovation.
